After more than 65 years, the paper mill at Red Rock Ontario concluded production.

Having being idled since November 2006, the decision was taken effective October 2007 to no longer produce paper in Red Rock.

I returned one last time to the mill I had spent many years – and reluctant as I am I admit it, practically every brick and railing in the place holds some sort of memory – both good and bad.

As for Red Rock, don’t cue the violin music just yet. Red Rock, actually Red Rockers are an elite group within an exclusive club, which bestow membership in only two ways – birth or community. Now if you weren’t born there take heart – the door is always open, and opportunity loves a warm welcome.

So, for anyone experiencing some lingering nostalgia, a final call in.
